C. 1800 European Grain Sack Chore Jacket
C. 1800 European Grain Sack Chore Jacket
Circa early 1800's European grain sacks were handwoven on narrow looms using fibers produced on family farms. It would take a weaver one night to produce 60 cm in length. Each family had its own distinctive stripe or stamp to ensure the sacks were returned after grain harvests. Their visible repairs reflect generations of reuse, showcasing durability and resilience.
