Cut from a 19th-Century linen grain sack - Germany.
Woven in the mid-19th century from heavy linen or hemp, this grain sack was built for utility—used to haul and store harvests across farms in Central and Eastern Europe. The weave is dense and durable.
Markings in stripes or hand-stitched initials identified the family or farm it belonged to. Any visible repairs were done not for decoration, but to keep it working. What remains is strong, honest cloth with a lived-in texture and clear purpose.
It is not delicate.
20" L x 20" W
